Kearney in the hunt for GNCC title
HUSQVARNA & KEARNEY STILL IN THE HUNT FOR THE 2008 GNCC TITLE In the eighth round of the 2008 GNCC Series, Glenn Kearney continued his quest for the podium. This past weekend in Yadkinville, North Carolina, the Scott Summers Racing / Husqvarna USA Team made its presence know thanks to the fifth place finish by Glenn. That moves him up to seventh overall in championship standings. The locals said it had not rained there in many months, so the race was extremely dry and dusty. The visibility was poor and perhaps that is why the team struggled by hitting a few trees, instead of going around them. Gordon Crockard and guest rider, Heath Voss, dropped out on lap two, after having accidents.
Glenn Kearney was on track to score his third podium in a row, however, while in 2nd place, he made a slight miscue and contacted a tree. Glenn regrouped after losing a few positions and soldiered on, earning 5th in the Pro Class and overall.
As usual another great day for rider/team manager Scott Summers, who continues to dominate Vet A Class even in the dusty and harsh environment aboard his TXC 510 capturing his sixth consecutive victory in the series. The event was also the debut of Scott as a redhead!
